ACQ5 Law Awards - Employment Lawyer of the year - Alan McDonald, McDonald Murholme solicitors
By Alan J. McDonald
Founder and managing director of McDonald Murholme, Alan McDonald, has been awarded the ACQ5 Law Award for Employment Lawyer of the Year.
The ACQ Annual Award Program recognises industry leaders who have achieved commercial success, of which Mr McDonald has been leading for over 20 years, within the employment law space.
Mr McDonald has been involved in many landmark cases and his firm, McDonald Murholme, has had a large number of employment law matters in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court, and Federal Circuit Court.
Upon establishing the firm, Mr McDonald recognised that the new laws under the Keating government’s Workplace Relations Act 1996 not merely benefitted companies by providing rules to guide management, but also employees who had new workplace rights to be exercised.
According to Mr McDonald, he is honoured to receive the award for Employment Lawyer of the Year.
“I have been able to grow and develop the firm into reputedly one of the best law firms practicing in employment law Australia-wide, servicing clients from across the country.”
The sound practice model of the firm has seen it grow and develop under the guidance of Mr McDonald, doubling both the number of clients it services as well as the staff who work for the company in recent years.
“The award recognises years of hard work to make sure that under resourced employees are treated fairly in their workplace by providing legal advice and efficient strategies to resolve their matters.”
