Employee focus
Law firm McDonald Murholme has opened an office in Adelaide to cater for the growing demand for employment law, recognising a gap for plaintiff-only firms focusing exclusively on employee rights.
Managing director Alan McDonald says his firm represents a wide spectrum of employees from chief executives to clerical staff in part-time, full-time and casual roles against wrongful dismissal, bullying, discrimination and underpayment of entitlements.
With mental health issues on the rise in the office environment, a recent Minter Ellison survey found companies also are putting more pressure on staff to be more productive and deliver greater gains.
